There are certain important and mandatory laboratory tests required to be conducted by all henna products manufacturers. The tests conducted are as per the ISI requirements.

The following test are conducted for ensuring the quality of henna hair colors and also meeting various requirements issued by different countries:

• pH of 5% 9m/m) solution in water
• Active matter as PPD, Content, Percent by mass
• Calculated active matter in solution after recommended dilution with water, percent by mass.

Test conducted for Ensuring the Quality of Natural Henna

• Presence of moisture and volatile matter in the product, percent by mass
• Presence of mineral water, percent by mass
• Presence of acid insoluble ash, percent by mass
• Presence of cold water extract, percent by mass
• Presence of extraneous sand, percentage by mass
• Presence of extraneous colors
