Guidelines for Buyers while souring henna
based products
 There
are certain restrictions imposed by a number of countries on henna
and henna based products. The restriction can be with respect to a
number of issues including registration of the product, laboratory
tests and research, ingredients used in the products.
Buyers should keep in mind the following guidelines while sourcing
henna products from any part of the world:
- It is mandatory for the henna product manufacturers to
register their products with the concerned health ministry in
order to market the products in a particular country. Countries
including Turkey, Egypt, Sudan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan,
South Korea, Taiwan, the USA, The UK, and Australia, all require
prior license approval.
- Certain countries follow stringent norms with respect to the
ingredients used in henna based products and also the maximum
permissible percentage of a particular ingredient used. For
example, Barium Peroxide, one of the oxidizing agent used in
henna based products is banned in many countries including South
Korea and Turkey. The ingredient has been replaced with Sodium
Perborate.
- Empirical studies and research have to be conducted
indicating the usage of the products on human beings, before
being marketed in other countries.
- Manufacturing and Expiry date, together with the proper
batch/lot number have to be clearly printed on the product.
- Caution notice, if any, should be clearly mentioned on the
product packaging.
Our henna based products meet with all the above requirements
issued by the Health ministries of different countries. Our brands
have successfully been marketed in a number of countries across the
globe.
