Leaf and Seed Yields
Leaf and Seed Yields The dry leaf yields greatly differ depending on a number of factors. They primarily include:

  • Germplasm characteristics
  • Soil nutrition level
  • Irrigation
  • Age of plantation
  • Spacing
  • Growing conditions
  • Management Practices
Maximum yields are recieved in the second and the third year in comparison to the first year. Seed yields mature when plants are 4 to 5 years of age. The productivity of these plants can continue upto 20 years but a decline in the yeild becomes notable by 12 years. If the leaf and seed yields are good, then their production ranges from 500 kgs to 2,500 kg a year.
