The volume of henna trade has risen substantially in the last decade. It's use in no longer restricted only for coloring or dyeing and beautification of body. Countries like India, Pakistan, Iran are one of the major production centres, manufacturing and supplying quality raw henna, extracts and finished products to other countries. Henna powder is the being exported in large volumes all over the world. Countries like Morocco are growing henna on a commercial basis for use as medicine and in aromatherapy. Henna essential oil is being extracted and being exported in large quantities. World trade of henna is estimated to be around 12000 tonnes annually, it is sold in the form of dried leaves either as whole or in powdered form.
