The major measures to be taken into consideration by the exporters when the material reaches their premise are as follows:

Redrying of the seeds if moisture content is greater than 10%. Mechanical Cleaning which includes sieving and aspiration. Bagging bith henna leaves and seeds in clean double jute or hessian bags(20kg - 50kg in capacity). Avoid any kind of abrasion or damage to the seeds and the leaves. Storage of products in ventilated containers to ensure safe and proper ocean shipment. To make sure that the time lapse involved between the purchase and shipment is minimum in order to prevent spilage of the pigment content.
